A Little Winter Shop Corner

If you want to support small creators and eco-friendly brands this season, here are some of my favourites. I love these because they promote slow living, sustainability and handmade craftsmanship... and they keep my work alive too!

Thank you for supporting creators, artisans and independent shops. It truly makes a difference!

Recipes From the Video

This Christmas menu was created to be simple, vegan, rustic, and DELICIOUS! Everything you see in the video was shared afterwards with my partner’s parents, and I’m happy to report that not a single crumb was left behind. The cake was a favourite!

Gingerbread Chocolate Tart

Instead of writing the full recipe here, I want to give full credit to the original creator, because this dessert is divine:

For my version, I used maple syrup instead of molasses. Thank you to Addicted to Dates for such a wonderful recipe!

Cosy decorating ideas 🧺 Old-fashioned Decor

For this video, I made some simple and rustic decorations, the kind of things families used to make long before we had plastic garlands.

Even though filming is a rather exhausting activity that requires moving the tripod every few seconds, I was able to enjoy the process of making the garlands and found it quite meditative.

Rag Garland

It can't get simpler! I cut strips of fabric, mostly tartan, hessian, and red-checkered cloth, and tied them together on thick twine. It’s imperfect in the most beautiful way.

Popcorn Garland

Max and I went to the cinema and couldn't finish our ridiculously big bag of popcorn. So I immediately decided that I would make a popcorn garland.

Threaded by hand using a needle and a long string. Meditative and magical. Shoutout to Max for threading more than half of the garland!

Natural Christmas Touches

  • pine branches

  • dried oranges

  • star anise

  • rosemary

  • fresh cranberries

Vintage Christmas Touches

  • wooden toys

  • bells and lanterns

  • antique bowls and vintage linens

The charm is in the little things!

A Christmas playlist

If you want even more cosy inspiration, music, and winter videos, I created a playlist just for the season:

Perfect for baking, decorating, or simply dreaming of quiet winter days.

Before I go…

I never speak about politics, but these last few years have been heartbreaking to watch. So many people are hurting, so much loss caused by the decisions of a few. Sometimes it feels like the world is breaking apart.

But we can still choose kindness. We can still choose to help.

Early this year, I joined a volunteering project which organises activities for people with intellectual disabilities, and it has been such a rewarding and heartwarming experience.

This month, I encourage you to:

  • Donate something from your home (or time) if you can

  • Support organisations doing real work

  • Help your community or volunteer for projects

  • Offer love where you see someone struggling

  • Send a letter to someone spending Christmas alone

  • Speak hope into dark places

  • Spread kindness and awareness for those whose voices are silenced or judged.

It doesn’t have to be big. Small kindness is powerful, too.

I wish each of you a season of warmth, rest and healing wherever you are.

Until my next post! 🤎

With love,

Indoora
